Internships
The Graphic Designer works with the Marketing Director and Public Relations
Manager to steward the Center for Puppetry Arts look and brand on all
materials.
Graphic Design and Collateral
• Develop brand concepts and design Center collateral materials,
including direct mail, ads, postcards, invitations, newsletters, flyers,
vouchers and coupons as needed
• Manage and create updates to Center website and social networking
websites
• Coordinate e-Newsletter design
• Develop print production schedule and manage budget for all pieces
• Manage consultants and outside vendors (such as printers) on multiple
projects
• Manage and maintain graphic files, including Center logos, photos
and art, as well as sponsor logos and photos from guest artists
• Assist Marketing team with brainstorming, marketing and advertising
strategies
• Assist Marketing Director with marketing and advertising strategies
and deadlines
• Meet all deadlines set by the Marketing Director
• Work with Center staff to generate information/approvals for all
printed materials
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Miscellaneous
• Maintain collateral archives
• Assist with special events set up and breakdown as needed
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Required)
• Minimum three to five years experience in graphic design
• Experience with website design and updates
• Experience quoting and managing print jobs, as well as working
with printers
• Macintosh knowledge and good working knowledge of InDesign, Quark
Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting
tight deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design

The Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Georgia seeks a proven Graphic
Designer to develop brand concepts and design Center collateral materials
(including direct mail, ads, postcards, invitations, newsletters, flyers,
vouchers and coupons as needed); manage and create updates to Center website
and social networking websites; coordinate e-Newsletter design; develop
print production schedule and manage budget for all pieces; manage consultants

graphic files (including Center logos, photos and art, as well as sponsor
logos and photos from guest artists); and other duties as assigned. Must
be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
The Graphic Designer also assists the Marketing team with brainstorming,
marketing and advertising strategies and aids the Marketing Director in
developing marketing and advertising strategies and deadlines.
Candidate should have at least 3-5 years experience in graphic design
with an emphasis on working within the marketing offices of an arts organization;
at least a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field;
and possess excellent communication and planning skills. Full-time position

organization dedicated to the puppetry arts and is located in the midtown
area of Atlanta, The Center is home to two performance spaces, a museum,
and leading education programs through its on-site and distance learning

The Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, GA is calling for the submission
of short puppet theater pieces ten minutes or less for the Xperimental
Puppet Theater (XPT) production.
Puppetry is an art form that combines literature, music, dance and drama
with the visual arts. Xperimental Puppetry Theater (XPT) is a forum that
offers the opportunity for artists to explore and experiment, creating
original puppet theater geared to adult audiences.
You can apply as a Project Director or as an Individual Member available
to participate in the different pieces as performers, musicians, and puppet
builders.
Proposed pieces must be under ten minutes, and can be in any of the myriad
styles of puppetry: shadows, masks, automata, object theater, sock puppets,
body puppets, stop-motion and live puppet film, marionettes, etc. We also
accept puppetry themed installation art for display in our lobby during
the production in May.
We are pleased to offer funding for new works. Project grants up to $400
may be awarded. In addition, rehearsal space, some technical, design,
and manipulation assistance can be provided as available.
The deadline for project proposals is February 1st, 2009. Performance

Interns at the Center for Puppetry Arts are an integral part of the departments,
and as such, their ideas and input will be valued. Payment will be the
items produced that the intern can put into his/her portfolio. In addition,
interns will receive 4 free tickets to all family performances, and 2
free tickets to all adult performances during the internship, as well
as a 20% discount in the Center’s Museum Store. Stipends may also
be available.
Development:
The Center for Puppetry Arts seeks an intern to assist the Development
department in day-to-day activities. Duties include assisting with writing
and production of fundraising appeals; researching potential contributors
and fundraising ideas; and assisting with the planning, organization and
logistics of cultivation parties and other special events.

Marketing/Public Relations:
The Center for Puppetry Arts seeks a dynamic individual to assist the
Marketing Director and Public Relations Manager in day-to-day activities.
Duties include writing press releases, PSAs and more; distributing materials
to the media and clipping press mentions; maintaining the Center Web site;
and miscellaneous special projects.

Marketing/Promotions:
The Center for Puppetry Arts seeks a dynamic individual to assist the
Audience Development Manager in developing and implementing strategies
and promotions to increase ticket sales and awareness. Duties include
assisting with cross promotions; writing letters and other promotional
copy; distributing Center material; and researching potential audiences.

Graphic Design:

the design of ads for various publications; updating the Center’s
